Objective

The mobile application was intended to cater to the ever-growing global and digital trend in the automobile industry. The main purpose of the application was to ease the process of car purchase and selling for the consumer and the seller as well. The users can browse through a varied range of cars as per their needs. We did all the hard work for the client’s users just to ensure they have a hassle free experience

Challenges

  • Maintaining an excel format with specific details - the client used to import data in the system via excel. Had to keep a check on the data that it is not repeated in our database.
  • We had to fetch car data like the year, make, model, trim and so on to show on step form and then we were required to locally hold that data till the last page of the form. After submission, we had to get all these details and had to find the current market price of that car.

Solutions

  • Formatted the excel file in a way that the primary data and metadata were kept separately and to remove data redundancy, we kept a uniqueness check on the primary and metadata.
  • We used local storage to store the data while moving to the other steps and at final submission, via API the final market value of the car was calculated. Based on it, the offered price was given.
